- Responsible for welding, splicing, repairing, and maintaining the metal structure of the roof, ensuring the integrity and safety of the structure.
- Install metal roofing, skylights, or other metal building elements according to project requirements, ensuring the roof’s waterproofing and durability.
- Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures
- Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
- Set up components for welding according to specifications
- Operate various manual and automated welding equipment for welding work
- Weld small and large components by using relevant tools
- Assess welded surface, structures and components to identify errors
- Follow and enforce strict safety regulations such as wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes
- Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
- Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
- Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
- May erect machines and equipment on-sits as requested
- Other duties may be reasonably required
