Delivery Driver Jobs in New Zealand. Foodstuffs North Island is seeking a reliable and customer-focused Delivery Driver to join the Gilmours Tauranga team in Whakatane, Bay of Plenty. As a key player in our wholesale Food & Beverage distribution business, you will be responsible for safely transporting products to our customers, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining excellent relationships with clients. This full-time, permanent role operates Monday to Friday with occasional rostered Saturday shifts, offering the opportunity to work in a supportive and dynamic environment. You’ll be responsible for loading and unloading products, following delivery schedules, and ensuring all paperwork is accurately completed. If you’re physically fit, have a valid Class 2 (or higher) driver’s license, and enjoy providing exceptional customer service, we want to hear from you.
Full Job Description
- Safely operate our delivery vehicles to transport products to our valued customers.
- Follow delivery routes and schedules to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
- Load and unload products, ensuring proper handling and care to maintain product quality.
- Provide exceptional customer service, building and maintaining positive relationships with our customers.
- Maintain accurate delivery records, including invoices, proof of delivery, and relevant documentation.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure efficient order fulfillment.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies and procedures.
- Perform routine vehicle safety checks and report any maintenance or operational issues promptly.
Requirements:
- Valid New Zealand driver’s license (Class 2 or higher) with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role – favorable but not required.
- Capable of lifting heavy boxes 20kg+ when doing deliveries, therefore being physically fit.
- Knowledge of the delivery area, including the ability to navigate efficiently.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Client-focused approach and ability to foster good relationships with clients.
- Positive attitude and willingness to go the extra mile for customer satisfaction.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Problem-solving approach with initiative and enthusiasm.
- Eligibility to work in NZ.
- Able to pass a drug test.
