About The Role

This position will work as part of a cohesive team by undertaking general cleaning for the provision of high quality services. You will work in a safe and inclusive manner that reflects our Southern Cross Care Better for life model to provide person centred care and support.

• dusting and polishing of furniture
• Moreover mopping, sweeping and vacuuming of floors
• Moreover cleaning bathrooms and toilets
• removal of rubbish
• Listening with empathy to residents and their representatives about cleaning
  requests and reporting to the Supervisor any requests that cannot be immediately actioned
• Moreover Working positively and collaboratively with other staff to provide person centred safe and effective cleaning services and supports
• Moreover Supporting and mentoring new housekeeping staff as well as assisting other cleaning staff as required
• Reporting any risks that have the potential to cause an accident or injury

About You

• Previous cleaning experience in a commercial role
• Moreover Adequate communication skills and a good level of English literacy
• The ability to read written instructions and speak in a manner that older people can understand
• Moreover Excellent time management skills to manage your workload without direct supervision in order to complete tasks within the allocated time
• A good understanding of the requirements to support residents living with dementia including those who display challenging behaviours
• A basic knowledge of the requirements of the Aged Care Standards as are applicable to the role
