Full Job Description
We are looking to hire several Farm Workers to work on also our farms in the Rotorua area. Are progressive in our farming practices, have modern facilities & machinery, and good on-farm systems. We are seeking Farm Workers to join our team who have a passion for working with animals and crops, have good communications, and who are keen to progress in also the farming industry. You will assist with daily operational tasks as required on farms.
- Cleaning and maintain the farm plant and also equipment and report any faults or failures
- Plant, cultivate and harvest crops and other produce on farms
- Moving and handling animals safely and observe and also report on stock wellbeing
- Milking twice a day
- Fencing and weed control
- Moving handling and rearing calves safely
- Pasture and feed allocation
- Effluent spreading and learning how the system runs
- Maintaining the water system and farm irrigation systems
- Safely operating farm vehicles and machinery as needed on farm and assists with basic maintenance
- Be able to follow instructions, communicate, and work as part of a team.
To Be Considered You Must:
- Provide a current CV
- Have some farming experience
- Willing to learn and develop
- Be a hard-working, honest, committed and reliable team member
- Confident using computers, smartphones, and also other technology, and understands the value of collecting good quality data and how it can be used to make decisions
- Be physically fit
- Be able to pass a pre-employment drug test
- Must have a clean criminal record
- Have a full driver’s license
