Fantastic opportunity for a Farmer to join an established 5,500Ha irrigated and dryland enterprise near Boort, Vic.
Due to the expansion and diversification of the business, we have created a position for an Irrigation Farm Hand. The business utilizes modern equipment and automation to execute irrigated program with Benchless and Pipe Through Bank systems, to efficiently irrigate raised beds for both summer and winter crops:
· Maize, Tomatoes, Soybeans and Mung Beans
· Wheat, Barley, Canola, Fibs and Chickpeas
This is a full-time, ongoing position. This is a genuine opportunity for someone to learn about the business and have input into the future operation. You will support all aspects of crop production, including:
- Planning and execution of a Bankless and Pipe Through Bank irrigation program.
- Machinery Operation.
- Design of new irrigation developments.
- Supporting the day-to-day operations of the cropping program.
- Record keeping and stock control.
The successful candidate for this role will have:
- Previous experience with farming.
- Desire to continue to learn and push into new areas.
- Confidence to manage your own time and work unsupervised.
You will join a team of full-time employees in a privately owned business, taking pride in the operation with a focus on work-life balance. The operation is based 15km north of Boort which offers great country living options, including a pub, café, lake for recreation, hospital, supermarket, chemist, a P-12 school and a strong, friendly community. House, vehicle, and salary to be negotiated with suitable applicants.
